Our Story
Ittara was born out of the need for a stylish, functional, and sustainable alternative to both animal leather and synthetic leather bags. Many 'vegan' leather options are made from PU or PVC, which degrade quickly, end up in landfills, and can take centuries to break down. At the same time, bags made from natural materials like jute or cotton, while eco-friendly, often fall short in terms of style, aesthetics, and practicality.
In our search for a bag crafted from responsible materials, we also found it difficult to find one that met our needs for organization, structure, and functionality. So, we set out to create Ittara—bags that are beautiful, stylish, and highly functional, made with the finest sustainable materials.
After years of refining designs to optimize space, efficiency, and ease of use, we partnered with some of the most skilled artisans in India to handcraft each bag with care. The result? Visually stunning, innovative bags that are lightweight, easy to carry, and thoughtfully designed to keep you organized.

Ittara bags are made from fine cork, which is significantly lighter than materials like animal leather or PU/PVC. All our bags, including larger laptop and shopper totes, are incredibly lightweight, allowing you to carry them for hours without getting tired.

Ittara bags are made from Cork which has minimal to no adverse effect on the environment as it is renewable and can be harvested without cutting the trees. Cork resists mold and mildew, making it ideal for use in humid conditions.

The lining is made from cotton, and we avoid printing or branding on the lining to minimize synthetic ink waste.

Cork Care Tips
Storing
1. Store your cork bag in the provided dust bag and ensure it's completely dry before putting it away.
2. To assist the bag in maintaining its shape, try storing it in a way that prevents it from ending up creased or flattened.
3. Avoid storing it in humid or damp areas, as this can lead to mold or mildew growth. Instead, keep it in a cool, dry location like a closet or drawer.
Cleaning
1. To clean your cork bag, simply dampen a cloth with water and delicately wipe the surface.
2. Let it dry naturally, preferably away from sunlight.
3. Avoid exposure to excess heat or water
4. Never machine wash your cork bag.
Bidri Care Tips
The Bidri label can maintain its brilliance indefinitely, if taken care of properly.
Cleaning
Never use soap, salt, or any kind of acid for cleaning. Instead, use water and a soft cloth to clean.
Moisture Control
Keep Bidri products away from moisture and water; in case of water contact, simply clean with a soft cloth and wipe with coconut oil.
Shine Restore
To restore the shine and gloss of silver, wipe the surface with coconut oil.
Warranty Policy
At Ittara, we take pride in the craftsmanship and durability of our products. To ensure your peace of mind, we provide a 1-Year Limited Warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
1. Coverage
The customer is responsible for shipping costs when sending the product to us for warranty assessment. If the claim is approved, we will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replaced product back to you.
1. Manufacturing defects in materials and craftsmanship.
2. Issues that affect the functionality of the bag due to defective components or workmanship.
If a covered issue arises within one year of purchase, we will repair or replace the product at our discretion.
2. Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
1. Normal wear and tear, including scratches, fading, scuffs, and general aging.
2. Damage due to improper use, including overloading, exposure to extreme conditions, or neglect.
3. Cosmetic damage that does not affect the functionality of the bag.
4. Damage caused by third-party alterations, repairs, or modifications.
5. Replacement or cost of personal items carried in or around the bag.
3. Warranty Claim Process
To file a warranty claim, please follow these steps:
1) Contact our customer service team at contact@ittarabags.com with the following details:
a. Proof of purchase (receipt or order number).
b. A detailed description of the issue, accompanied by clear photographs.
2)Upon review, you may be asked to return the product for assessment.
3) If the issue is covered under warranty, we will either:
a. Repair the product.
b. Replace the product with the same style or a product of equal value if the original style is unavailable.
4. Shipping
1. The customer is responsible for shipping costs when sending the product to us for warranty assessment.
2. If the claim is approved, we will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replaced product back to you.
5. Important Notes
1. The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
2. Please retain your proof of purchase to process any claims.
3. Warranty claims must be filed within one year from the date of purchase.
